If you are not a “Magic: The Gathering” player, then the MTG Studio application is not for you. If you are one of the more than 12 million people who enjoy the trading card game, then you’re very well advised to take a look at the MTG Studio deck and collection editor. By getting this Windows application, you will be able to create and manage your own card collection.

Speaking about the Microsoft-developed operating system, with the help of a simple setup wizard, you will be able to quickly and easily install it on top of just about any Windows edition. The aforementioned setup wizard will ask you to choose between a Full installation (includes core program files, shortcuts, and sample decks), compact installation (just the files needed to run the application), custom installation (choose the desired installation components). The setup wizard will also ask you if you want to associate MTG Studio with .deck, .tinydeck, .dec. dek, and .mwDeck files.

The MTG Studio interface is divided into several panes: a cards pane that presents a list of playing cards and a preview pane to the left that presents a bit of info on a selected card – this preview pane can be hidden out of sight with a simple mouse click. A few changes to how the interface works can be made from the Options menu that you can easily access just by pressing the F10 key.

If you go with the Full installation, MTG Studio will present some sample decks on its interface. You can view the cards in the decks, you can take cards out, you can adjust the deck card quantity, and so on. Speaking about cards, it must be mentioned that MTG Studio has a cards database that includes more than 27K cards – that’s the most complete “Magic: The Gathering” database in the world.

MTG Studio presents you with powerful tools to build your deck collection and manage it efficiently.

Pros

The MTG Studio setup wizard asks you to choose between a full, compact, and custom installation. The application comes with some handy sample decks. MTG Studio provides support for just about any known Magic deck format. You can open and edit decks simultaneously.

Cons
